The flag was adopted recently. In the Village Newsletter from October 2006 is stated: "The Village of Franklin Park has adopted by ordinance for the official village seal to be the colorful signpost design that is on signs as you enter our village. This seal is on all of our stationary, Web site and now this wonderful design is on our official village flag." According to these photos on the Historic Images website, the first flag of the village of Franklin Park was adopted in 1970.
