"Foros name has been given by Greeks who lived here in
Middle Ages ("foros" - the duty, the tax).
Its flag was confirmed in August, 5th, 2005 by the decision #4.2
of XL city council session. Rectangular panel with ratio 2:3 is
divided on the red and blue parties by white strip from bottom
staff to top free corners. In the top part is white church with
yellow domes. In the bottom part is white "rose of

From <www.heraldry.com.ua>:
"It was confirmed in August, 5th, 2005 by the decision #4.1
of XL city council session. Argent chevron reversed; on it are
three sable decorative bowls with flower ornament and handles as
a Cupids. Gules; argent church with or domes. Azure; argent
"rose of winds", with the argent radiants, with
outgoing bottom lengthened beam which pointed on the latin letter
S. On the dexter and sinister of "roses of winds" are
antique allegorical images of a southern wind (young man with
argent wings, in argent clothes, holding of the or amphora in his
hands) and northern (the man with argent wings, in argent
clothes, holding the argent bowl in his hands).
The church reflects a real-life temple of Christ Revival, built
in 1892 by O.Kuznetsov, the owner of Foros. The temple
established on a Red rock above settlement. Decorative pig-iron
bowls are most distinguished elements of the most beautiful
places - the manors of O.Kuznetsov.
"The Rose of winds" with lengthened beam reflects a
site of a settlement in the most southern point of Crimea.
Distinctive feature of a climate are the often winds. Name of a
settlement in the standard variant is translated as
"wind". In the arms it is reflected by the antique
allegorical images of southern and northern winds.
Gules symbolizes courage, bravery, argent - cleanliness of
thoughts, sincerity, azure - beauty and greatness."
