Overview

The Flag, Coat of Arms and large Coat of Arms of Lviv City wereadopted by local council on July 5, 1990. Designed by A.Grechylo, I.Svarnyk, I. & V. Turetskyi. Coat of Arms of Lviv was designed according the seals of the 14th c. Supporters of the Coat of Arms: gold lion - territorial symbol of the Ruthenian Kingdom (14th c.); and Ruthenian warrior.
Lviv is largest city of the Western Ukraine.

Flag According to Book of all Kingdoms (late 14th Cent.)

The 14th flag mentioned and illustrated in the Book of All Kingdoms [e9s50] is attributed to city called "Leon/Lumbret", between Germany and the Black Sea, which Jorge Candeias has tentatively identified as Lvov.
It is a green flag with ared cross throughout,

The 1917 flag issue of National Geographic [gmc17] explicitly identifies it as the city of Lemberg, the 1917 iteration of Lvov [page 389].
