Van Commodity Exchange

In 1988, without any demand from the Province of Van, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved the establishment of the Van Commodity Exchange (Van Ticaret Borsası - VTB; website) by Order No. 222, issued on 28 March 1988. However, this approval had no outcome until 1998.
In 1998, the absence of such an Exchange was felt and the then-Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry applied to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the establishment of a commodity exchange; the application was found appropriate and Van Commodity Exchange was established by Ministry Approval No. 119, issued on 17 November 1998.

Van Büyükşehir Belediyespor (Van Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor Kulübü) was established in 1982, as Belediye Vanspor, by the municipality of Van. In 2013, Van became a metropolitan municipality, which prompted the update of the club's name.
