Shield Argent two Portuguese ibexes Sable garnished Or embowed statant respectant and surmounting each a coupeau Vert, issuant from flanches and from base wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, in chief a couped Greek cross Gules with its ends fitted each with three acorns Or capsuled Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers(village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILAR DA VEIGA"
Meaning:
The acorned red cross is an attribute of St. Anthony, for this being the patron saint of the Catholic parish this commune was created from. The animals are blazoned as wild goats, and refer to the Portuguese ibex (Latin: Capra pyrenaica lusitanica), as the last living member of this subspecies was spotted in the territory of this commune, in 1892 (and promptly shot at because of course it was), closing a century of population decline.

Termas do Gerês, also know as Caldas do Gerês or simply Gerês, was one of the former communes of Terras de Bouro Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 1105 inhabitants in 2015 . It was elevated to the rank of a town on 16 August 1991. It is a town within the territory of this commune, whose nominal seat is however a village (and whose arms show a mural crown with only three towers). While there are a few other cases that could be described like that, Caldas do Gerês is, as far as I know, unique in that there was an official grant of flag and arms.
