It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

Shield Vert chaussé Or charged with a dragon rampant Vert, armed and langued Gules, pierced in throat by a crosslet Sable, over all on base wavy Azure a barrulet wavy Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visiable towers (village rank)and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VALDOSENDE"
Meaning:
The dragon is an attribute of St. Marinha, the local patron saint. The shield partition is a representation of the name giving valley. The base wavy is a representation of the dammed Cávado River.

Valdosende is one of the 11 communes of Terras de Bouro Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 550 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 10,96 km².
