It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of red and yellow.

Shield Or on a sun Gules a Paschal Lamb Argent, holding a labarum cruciger Or flagged Argent with a cross Gules, in chief two cherry twigs Vert fructed Gules, base barruly wavy of four of Azure and Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "TÁVORA - TABUAÇO".
Meaning:
The symbolism is mostly trivial, with the Agnus Dei (English: Paschal Lamb) standing for John the Baptist, patron of the Catholic parish this commune was created from, the cherries stand for local cherry groves, and the wavy base, as usual, for the local river Távora. That is said to be also a nod to the Lords of Távora (very famously disgraced at the Court in the late 1750s), see
