The shield is Azure, in centre a cross Sable cotized Argent ending in base as an anchor, the intersection point of crossbars charged with a mystic rose Or seeded Gules and barbed Vert, the whole flanked by two windmill wheels Sable rigged Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "PORTO SALVO".
Meaning:
According to Sérgio Horta the blue colour is representing sky and sea. The cross with anchor is symbolizing the Christian virtues faith and hope. The mystic rose is an attribute of Our Lady of porto Salvo, the local patron saint. The wheels are symbolizing the rural character in the past.
