Shield Vert two raised granaries affronty Argent set per fess and on chief a wolf´s head Or langued and animated Gules, issuant from a base wavy per fess wavy Argent and Azure a watermill wheel Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "COVELO do GERÊS" (see left image above).
Another version is as follows: Shield Vert a wolf´s head Sable langued and animated Gules, on chief two raised granaries affronty Argent in fess, issuant from base wavy per fess wavy Argent and Azure a watermill wheel Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "COVELO DO GERÊS" (see right image above).
Meaning:
To note, there are differences off from the expected:
- White coronet, instead of the usual light grey - a common variant.
- Word "do" in lower case letters; unusual error but not unexpected.
Unlike the scroll text lettercase and the color of the coronet, these differences in the charges of the shield are not trivial, and might be behind the delay of the officialisation process in some way.

Presentation of Covelo do Gerês

Covelo do Gerês is one of the 17 communes of Montalegre Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 166 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 10,04 km².
