Shield Gules a local rabelo sailship Or with its sail Argent, loaded with casks Sable, issuant from base wavy Argent ,charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, on chief two keys crossed saltirewise with one Or bendwise over the or Argent and the pair ties with a ribbon Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "SAMODÃES".
Meaning:
The keys are attributes of St. Peter, the local patron saint. The base wavy is a representation of the Douro River. The ship is atypical ancient transporter of wines and port wines down the river.

Samodães is one of the 14 communes of Lamego Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 172 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 3,09 km².
