Shield Vert an embattled tower Or masoned Sable with port and windows of the same between two bars wavy Argent, each charged with a barrulet wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "S. GENS-FAFE".
Meaning:
The bars wavy are representations of the Ferro River and the Docim Creek, surrounding the village.

São Gens is one of the 17 communes of Fafe Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 1643 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 14,80 km².
