Skuzum village
Skuzum (Dutch: Idsegahuizum) is a village in Wûnseradiel municipality
in the province of Fryslân.
Flag: per black fly-diagonal blue over yellow; at the hoist the narrowed
municipal flag.
adopted 1955; design: Kl. Sierksma
Arms: per bend azure, noir, or; on noir a corn-ear or.
The coat of arms is based on the flag. On the widened black stripe
the ear symbolizing agriculture, the main occupation in the village.
The name means: houses of the Idzinga's (though it beats me why the
Frisians replaced the old name "Idsegahuzen" for the sorry sounding
"Skuzum"... scuse me :-) ) It has hardly 100 inhabitants.
