The coat of arms of Guadalupe was adopted officially in 1988 under the Municipal Regulations. Its designer is Pablo Reyes Cordero, as part of his duties under the Historical Research department of Guadalupe. Above the shield, a ribbon wraps around, bearing in its center the year 1578, the establishment of the first settlement here. A wreath of victory and a branch wrapped in a paper is also seen. Through the year is a lance. At the bottom, another ribbon around a lance and leaves; the year 1707 marks the establishment of an Apostolic College here, which earned it great fame. The border of the shield reads the motto "HISTORIA TRABAJO PROGRESO" [Work, History, Progress]. At the bottom, the name GUADALUPE heavily decorated and to its sides. In the center of the shield, an image of the Guadalupe Museum arch, reading its foundation year as such of 1878 by the State Government. Through the arch, an image of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. At the top, an image of a half of the sun and moon.
