Coat of Arms

image from labestad.reduaz.mx

The coat of arms was designed by Olga Castañeda Jejeda and another person of Zacatecas City whose name is unknown. It was adopted through a call for submissions from the council, but its adoption year is unknown. Above the shield, a church dome is seen. At the top of the shield is a ribbon reading ATOLINGA. At the bottom, a ribbon reads ALTAE VITAE FONS [The source of high life]. The upper-right section depicts San Cayetano, patron saint of the Municipality. The upper-left depicts the origin of its name, "place where the water lowers"; and as such depicts a marsh with a view of the hills. The lower section depicts a cattle, farming in the valley, and a cob of corn; of course, these are for cattle-raising and agriculture.
