No Flag

It appears that Tepache does not use a municipal flag.

Coat of Arms

image from tepache.transparenciasonora.org

Tepache adopted its coat of arms in 1989, being designed by Ernesto Cortez Pérez of the Lampazos Mining Company. It was adopted through an open contest which started in 1988, having a special jury to choose the best coat of arms. Information thankfully received from the Honorable Council of Tepache. No official description is known, but its meaning can be explained.

The upper part of the shield has four concave sections. Within the upper part of the shield is a rising sun with bright rays, rising over the mountainous land which has a wide valley. A path going over a ditch leads into a mountain range and has a crossed pick and shovel beside it. There are some holes beside the path, though it is unclear for what purpose. In contrast to the mining path, there are fields of crops after the ditch ends, ending at the mountains. The lower half is divided in two by a flaming torch as a symbol of progress; the left side contains a man on a tractor and a bundle of wheat. On the right side, there is a horse and cow, symbols of the Sonoran rancher. Beside the shield are two branches. At the lowest section of the shield, a blue ribbon reads "Tepache", below "Son" (the state), and another blue ribbon below this reads "Fundado en 1656", all in Blackletter. It should be noted that the regularly recognized date of foundation is 1678, not 1656.
