Coat of Arms

image from Facebook

The coat of arms of Rayón was created in November of 1997 under the direction of mayor Manuel Encinas Morales (1997-2000). In the upper portion, it depicts the Our Lady of the Rosary Church, the Picacho Hill, and the San Miguel River. The lower half is divided into two; to the left is a field and two peanuts, while the right carries a wheel of cheese and a roaming cattle, all of these being products of the region. The border is brown and carries the name "RAYON" with the legend "FUNDADO EN EL AÑO DE 1638 CON EL NOMBRE DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DEL ROSARIO DE NACAMERI" [Founded in the year of 1639 with the name of Our Lady of the Rosary of Nacameri].
