No Flag

It appears that Navojoa does not use a municipal flag.

Coat of Arms

Nearing the end of the tenure of Daniel Acosta Cázares (1976-1979) as Municipal President, the council launched a call for proposals of a Navojoa coat of arms in 1979. In the end, the design by graphic designer Roberto Loaiza Escalante was chosen by the council, earning $10,000 pesos for his design of the symbol. In total, there were 60 proposals and 7 finalists. The symbol is divided into a blue upper section and orange lower section. On the blue field is the municipal building, remodeled in 1979, a Yaqui Indian's head, and a portion of a cactus. Arched below the Yaqui's head is the name "NAVOJOA"; arched below "SONORA", both in an old-Western font. On the orange section are the grooves of a field, a tractor plowing the land, two ears of wheat, and two grain silos. The coat of arms is made to look like a drop of water touching the land, representing that the region could not have developed without water.
