Located in Bunkyo City Tokyo and established in 1965. The embroidery ceremonial hanging flag has maroon background with a gold emblem in gold fringe. The "ka" in the name of Atomi Kakei, the founder of the school, means "cherry blossom". She often wrote calligraphy in front of the Emperor, and taught Chinese poetry and painting to court ladies at the Imperial Palace for several years. Empress Dowager Shoken, of Emperor Meiji, gave her the symbol mark of "cherry blossom" in honor of her name. The plump, five-petaled cherry blossom petals represent Principal Riko's teaching to "grow up to be a well rounded person," which is the pride of the university.
