The al-Jawaneh are a clan in Anbar Governorate. They are from the Husseini
Sayyids. They previously resided in the village of Samlaya, but later renamed
Al-Jawa'neh.
The Al-Jawa'neh are named after Al-Jawa'an, a nickname. It
is well known that the Al-Jawa'neh are Sayyids who trace their lineage back to
Sayyid Izz al-Din, whose lineage goes back to
Hussein ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib).
The clan is divided into the
following branches:
1. Al-Bu Khalil: They are the sons of
Sayyid Khalil ibn Ibrahim
2. Al-Bu Zahir
3. Al-Bu Ta'i'
4. Al-Bu Hashi
5. Al-Bu Ahmed Al Rajab
6. Al-Zakit
And subbranches:
1. Al-Bu Muhammad
2. Al-Bu Yassin
3. Al-Ma'amra
(Al-Ma'amra Al-Jawa'na)
4 Al-Bu Shabib

The flag is a green horizontal
background with the logo in the middle, with the clan's inscription below. It
seems that the clan's leader is entitled to display a personal flag in
representation of the clan itself and there seems to be no existence of a "clan
flag" per se, other than this positional flag.
