The Municipality of Galovac (1,190 inhabitants according to the 2001 census, all of them living in the village of the same name) was formed in 1997 by seceding from the Municipality of Zemunik Donji.

The symbols of Galovac are prescribed in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Galovac (text), adopted on 27 July 2010 by the Municipality Assembly but not published in any official gazette.
The flag is only mentioned, but no indication on how it should look like is given - probably none was imagined as yet.

The coat of arms of Galovac is azure scales or superimposed over a sword erect conjoined with a cross pattee also or flanked and suppoerted by two peacocks argent. The charges refer to St. Michael, patron of the community, and peacocks, as symbols of imortality, as shown on a relief flanking a cross from the St. Bartholomeus church from the early Romanic period (9th-12th century).

The coat of arms is described in the Municipality Statutes, as follows:
Article 4.
[...]
The coat of arms of the Municipality of Galovac is the historical coat of arms of the Municipality of Galovac.
The coat of arms of the Municipality of Galovac is the figure of St. Michael, the Municipality's patron saint.Article 5.
The coat of arms and the flag of the Municipality are used so that the tradition and dignity of the Municipality of Galovac is respected.
The Municipality Assembly shall adopt a separate Decision on the use of the coat of arms and the flag.
There is probably no "historical" coat of arms of Golovac. This claim must have been copied blindly from the State regulations.
