Pêcheries de France, based in Paris, was involved in the "grand fishing" of cod in Iceland and Newfoundland. The company managed fleets in the ports of Boulogne, Bordeaux, Granville (where their only competitor was Rémy Chuinard), and, mostly, La Rochelle-La Palice; the company also owned a counter in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
