Possehl's Eisen und Kohlenhandel GmbH:The company was founded by Ludwig Possehl on 1 May 1847 in Lübeck for the local trade of coal and iron. In 1873, Ludwig Possehl was succeeded by his elder son Emil, while the company became the leader of trade in Lübeck. Before the First World War, Possehl, Senator of Lübeck, was the main importer of Swedish ore to Germany and the company, also involved in steelworks, quarries and mines, managed its own fleet.The company still exists as a production, trading and services company.

The company was based in Lübeck and had two freighters in 1933. The main business was transport of coal and ore between Sweden, England and Germany. The flag was white, in a throughout lozenge with red fimbriation was a black "P".
