Ensdorf Coat of Arms

Shield Gules with base wavy Argent, impending hammer and mallet Or in saltire superimposing a pair of thunderbolts addorsed Argent, in chief an impending fleur-de-lis Argent.
Meaning:
The base wavy is symbolising the Saar River. The fleur-de-lis as an attribute of St. Mary, patron saint of Wadgassen Abbey, is alluding to the fact that the village historically belonged to the abbey until 1581. The tinctures are those of the Duchy of Lothringen (Lorraine). Hammer and mallet are symbolising mining and the bolts the local power station.
