Bietigheim Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a cross Moline Gules, over all in centre an inescutcheon Or, charged with a bend Gules.
Meaning:
A court seal, probably from the 15th century with a print from 1610, already displayed the current pattern. The inescutcheon displays the arms of the Margraviate of Baden. The cross moline is a local symbol, probably referring to the local parish church, dedicated to the Holy Cross. Since the beginning of the 19th century cross and shield were replaced by a 5-point star with a string of pearls and later by a simple 6-point star.

In 1904 Bietigheim adopted the pattern from the first seal, slightly improved, as arms. Both versions of the banner probably have never been approved officially. The monocolour id the flag used the municipal hall. The bicolour is based on the municipal colours red and white, which were reported by Heinz Stoob in 1962. According to Herwig John (1990) a red-yellow bicolour (better fitting the arms) was proposed but perhaps never had been approved.
