Rust Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure a fish haurient Argent, at sinister Gules a ploughshare Or.
Meaning:
Rust had been a possession of the Böcklin kin of Böcklinsau, who had been members of the league of imperial knights in the Ortenau region. It became a possession of Baden in 1806. The arms are representing the main business lines, fishery, represented by the fish, and agriculture, represented by the ploughshare. The local seals since 1703 displayed nearly the same pattern, but the fish was urinant until the 19th century. The local fishermen were organised as a guild. Their seal displayed an anchor flanked by two fish urinant.

The arms were approved in 1898 by the General State Archive of Baden.
