Schwifting Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter Gules a beech twig Argent with seven leaves; at sinister Or, issuant from a triplemount Vert an ibex Sable armed Argent.
Meaning:
The twig is the heraldic symbol of the Rottenbuch Abbey, which owned large estates since the middle of the 13th century and had also the right of patronage over the local parish church. Between 1300 and 1803 the abbey had also been the manorial lord of the biggest part of the village. The ibex on a triplemount is taken from the personal arms of Provost Wolfgang Perghofer (1582-1611), who built a house for the abbey in the village.

The arms were approved on 22 November 1974 by Minister of Interior of Bayern.
