Shield Gules, on rocks issuant Argent a castle of the same with tower, mansion and donjon, all with roofs Azure and surrounded by an embattled curtain wall.
Meaning:
The castle belonged a.o. to the Counts of Hirschberg, the Counts of Oettingen and the Lords of Heideck, before it was acquired by the Bishopric of Eichstätt in 1440. Dollnstein gained the rights of a market town in 1387. Already the oldest town seal from the 14th century displayed the current pattern, which basically never changed despite of minor details. The tinctures are those of the bishopric.
