The SVRB was established on 1 April 2022, and is the only association that includes two cantons, Baselland and Basel-Stadt. It was formed through the merger of the Kantonalschützenverband Basel-Stadt (KSV BS), the Kantonalschützengesellschaft Basel-Land (KSG BL), and the Sportschützenverband beider Basel (SVBB). It comprises 120 clubs and 4 regional sections with about 2900 members (website).
