Description of the flag

The flag of the Corporation of the Town of Arnprior (ratio 5:3) consists of the town crest charged on a white background with a red vertical band on the fly.

The crest of the Town of Arnprior is a modified family crest of the McLachlin family with a banner over the crest reading “Town of Arnprior”. Lumber baron Daniel McLachlin was a key figure in the early development of the town.

The motto “Fortis et Fidus” Strong and Faithful (Brave and Loyal), is taken from the McLachlin family coat of arms.

A new LOGO flag was introduced in 2013 following the re-branding of the town. The logo is a simplified graphic showing land and water element symbols below the outline of the former Post Office building (clock tower the key landmark of the town), flanked by pine trees and stylized bridge. The updated slogan for the town is… “Where the Rivers Meet” (Ottawa and Madawaska Rivers).
