"Club Náutico Buchardo" (CNB) was founded in 1907 in San Isidro, Province of
Buenos Aires.

The club takes its name from Hipólito Buchardo (born in France in 1780 as Hippolyte de Bouchard). He was a privateer at the service of Buenos Aires Aires government from 1815 to 1819. He led an expedition that made the first Argentine cruise around the world in the ship "La Argentina". During his expedition he raised the Argentine flag in the coasts of Central America and he achieved the recongnition of Argentine Independence for the first time by a foreign nation (Hawaii under the kingdom of Kamehameha I). He died in 1837 in Perú.

The burgee of CNB, as shown graphically on the website of the
Argentine Sailing Federation as part of the club emblem, is
horizontally divided red-white-red-white-red with a square white
canton charged with a blue anchor placed diagonally.
This design is partially confirmed by photos shown on the unofficial
club website.

The design shown in the emblem at the club´s website is a simplification of the real burgee. The real one has 7 paralel stripes white and red. However some burgees appear to have 6 stripes instead of 7. The 6 stripes variant starts with white at top.
