The Municipality of Quitilipi is located in the Department of Quitilipi. Its flag was adopted in 1997.

"The city of Quitilipi has two heraldic elements that identify it: its Flag and its Shield.

This motto that accompanies our community in all public events and that identifies our delegations throughout the country is also the result of the inspiration of local personalities who will be perpetually linked to the history of Quitilipi.

In this case the protagonists are three young people, Cintia Noemí CONTRERAS, Cintia Natalia OSUNA and Marina Soledad MORALES EGGER who in 1997, representing the Nuestra Sra. de Fátima Institute, won first prize in the contest organized for this purpose, leaving forever for our people an identifying banner.

Showing three colors, light blue at the top representing the firmament, white in the center alluding to cotton and green below symbolizing vegetation, with the letter Q in the center, inside which the characteristic owl perched on a cotton cocoon relates it. With the name of the city and the predominant crop in the area, this flag was adopted by the Municipality as an official symbol for the Quitilipi Department according to Municipal Council Ordinance No. 199/97 dated 11/25/97." http://quitilipionline.fullblog.com.ar/heraldica-bandera.html
