About the district

The District of General Viamonte (22,649 inhabitants in 2022) is in the northwest of Buenos Aires Province.

Founded as Los Toldos the town grew up around the Los Toldos Station of the Western Railway and was declared the district capital with the same name. Both the station and the town were replaced by the name of General Viamonte in 1910.

Description of the flag

The flag of General Viamonte is horizontally divided blue-white-green in a ratio of about 1:4:1, and bears on the white stripe a flaming partial sun on which sits a brown polygon in the shape of the district. Four black birds fly above toward the hoist and above toward the fly from the sun.
