Description of the flag

The flag of Brandsen is white with a green horizontal stripe at the bottom. In canton is placed a yellow sun-cog wheel surrounded in itslower right side by five green leaves.

White represents purity and peace. Green represents the crops and the small cattle-breeding farms. The emblem represents the sun enlightening the five settlements forming the municipality (Gómez, Samborombon, Jeppener, Altamirano and Oliden), the sun supplying vitality to the rural zones, and manpower for the industrial zones.

The flag was selected in a contest ("Una Bandera para Brandsen" - A flag for Brandsen) organized from 6 May to 7 June 2013.

The jury selected the winning design on 12 June 2013, among 33 proposals. The flag was designed by Yanina Pinnola and Sebastián García, two inhabitants from Brandsen.

A first public contest ("Una Bandera para Brandsen"), prescribed on 13 June 2010 by Municipal Decree No. 206, was unsuccessful. The submission deadline was fixed to 12 July 2010. The results of the contest should have been proclaimed on 21 October 2010 during the celebration of the anniversary of the establishment of the town.
