Description of the Flag

The flag is a blue field with a emblem type device in the middle. It is a golden ring with a simplified scene of a sun rising above the rivers and hills. On the ring from left side to the right side reads the text "GATEWAY TO FAYETTE COUNTY". Overlaying the main emblem is a yellow banner with the city's name on it. Above the emblem is the text: "CITY OF" in yellow. Underneath the emblem is the name of the two counties Smithers is in.
