The flag for Boys Town, Nebraska, consists of the seal, in white, on a dark
blue field.
Boys Town is a near-enclave of Omaha with an area of 0.95 sq
mi (2.45 sq km) and a population of only 410 as of the 2020 census. However, the
story behind Boys Town is actually really interesting and is like no other. The
village was established in 1917 as the headquarters for the non-profit
organization and orphanage Father Flanagan's Boys' Home. The organization is
more commonly known as "Boys Town", hence where we get the name. The
organization was founded by a man named Father Flanagan. The entire village is a
singular National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of
Historic Places.
