Description of the flag

Oldenburg, Indiana, uses the same flag as Oldenburg, Germany because that's what the town is based on (even the street signs are in German first!). The flag is everywhere, whether it be on flagpoles, license plates, restaurant entrances and even front porches; the town pride is incomparable to any other place I've known and you can't escape it.

The flag is five yellow-red horizontal stripes.

Oldenburg is a very authentic-feeling German immigrant town of 647 people as of the 2020 census. It is Batesville's smaller but cooler younger brother. The motto is "The village of spires" because the spires from the giant churches form a really neat skyline. Most of the signs are in both German and English and most of the roads are made of brick. Everyone there celebrates a yearly festival called Freudenfest.
