This is the flag of the Youth International Party, USA, as used in the late-1960s to mid-1970s. The Party Leaders were Abby Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. Black for anarchy; red star of socialism; green Marijuana leaves.
Dave Martucci, 30 October 1996
The Black indeed represents Anarchy , the Red Star represents Revolution or
rather Re- evolution as we like to say, and the green marijuana leaf represents
Life, in the completely wholistic sense of Nature and Mother Earth.
Yippies continued on thru the 80s and 90s. In the 80s our most notable actions
included the 5th Ave Pot Parades in NYC, the Rock Against Racism concerts in
Central Park, the Rock Against Reagan national tours in '83-84, the 4th of July
White House Smoke Ins, plus other related events around the country.
We
 still exist - we haven't disappeared. Y - Youth, we're all young at heart, I -
International - we are Internacional, P - Party - we like to Party.
