Shield Gules a pallium Argent charged with three crosslets patty Sable, issuant from base wavy of Azure and Argent a throughout bridge Or masoned Sable with one arch. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll, in Bénard Guedes style, reading in black upper case serifed letters "FATAUNÇOS".
Meaning:
The pallium, part of the regalia, the robe of an archbishop, probably refers to St. Charles Borromeo, the local patron saint, who had been Archbishop of Milan and later cardinal. He had been one of the protagonists of Catholic counter-reformation and also reformed the Roman Catholic Church. The bridge is a representation of the local Pedrinha Bridge, crossing a short local tributary of the nearby Vouga River. The tributary has its fountain in the commune.

Fataunços was one of the six communes of Vouzela Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 751 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 8,52 km².

Meaning:
The name of the commune means fig plantation. The fig branches are thus canting elements.
