The arms are Argent an orb Azure encircled Or and ensigned with a cross crosslet of the first and in orle ten fig leaves Or. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FIGUEIREDO DE ALVA".
Meaning:
The word "figueiredo", apart from being a common Portuguese surname, may also mean "fig grove", and thus the fig leaves are canting. The orb is an attribute of Jesus Christ, being the local patron saint as the Divine Saviour.

Figueiredo de Alva is one of the ten communes of São Pedro do Sul Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 721 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 15,56 km².
