Shield Vert, a granary Argent with windows Vert and roof Gules, in chief a Paschal Lamb couchant Argent nimbed Or, in base a hexagon Argent charged with four flames Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials  "VILA CHÃ - S.JOÃO BAPTISTA".
Meaning: 
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.

São João Baptista de Vila Chã Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Ponte da Barca Municipality (q.v.); it had 484 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 10.1 km².

The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, local patron saint and name giver of the commune.
