It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain purple field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Or a crescent recumbent Vert between tao beanstalks eradicated Vert, fruited and blossomed Gules, on central chief a royal coronet Purple. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "CAÍDE DE REI".
Meaning:
Coronet and crescent are canting elements, as the name of the communes means "(Moorish) Royal Commander". They are also symbolising the early peopling of the village. The stalks are symbolising agriculture.

Presentation of Caíde de Rei

Caíde de Rei is one of the nine communes of Lousada Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 2423 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 6,66 km².
