Shield Gules with base wavy of Azure and Argent, charged with a millwheel Or, issuant from base a mountain ridge Argent garnished Sable, on chief five arrows Argent in fan tied Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA CORTÊS DO MONDEGO".
Meaning:
The arrows are an attribute of St. Sebastian, the local patron saint. Millwhhel and base wavy are a representation of the name giving Mondego River, the mountain ridge is a representation of the Serra Estrela, from which the river originates.

Vila Cortês do Mondego is one of the 35 communes of Guarda Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 283 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 4,38 km².
