Coat of Arms

Shield Vert with base wavy Argent, charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, two croziers Or with batons Argent in saltire, flanked on base by a Celtiberian shield Argent and on flanches by two corn cobs Argent leafed Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "BASTO - CABECEIRAS DE BASTO".
Meaning:
The base wavy is a representation of the name giving river.

Presentation of Basto

Basto is one of the eight communes of Cabeceiras de Basto Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 938 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 5,58 km².
