fighting the Somozist dictature in the 1960s. The flag of the movement, as shown
on a colour photography, is white with a blue triangle placed along the hoist
and the writing "ONCE DE NOVIEMBRE" in blue letters placed in the middle of the

Movimiento Once de Noviembre broke out on 11 November 1960 with the attack of
the military barracks of Jinotepe and Diriamba (Carazo Department). The uprising
was quickly suppressed by Somoza's National Guard.
The uprising was led by
Fernando Chamorro (1933-1994), who subsequently joined the FSLN's South Front
until the fall of Somoza on 19 July 1979. Afterwards, Chamorro joined
"counter-revolutionary" Edén Pastora.
Among the 11 November rebels, Julio
Rocha Idiáquez (d. 2001) was subsequently elected Mayor of Diriamba while Lila
Aguilar Román, a former Miss Nicaragua, was elected Mayor of Jinotepe.
