The town emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has town emblem of three colors blue, green and orange. The town emblem is a stylized Hiragana Mi み of Minami Echizen. The blue stands for beautiful sea, green color for rich nature and vigor and orange color for town’s history, culture and people’s warmth. As a whole it represents city figure making a strong progress together with rich nature.

Imajo Town / 今庄町

The flag of the former town of Imajo was purple with mark. The town is now, from 2005, part of the town of Minamiechizen.

The kanji character “今” (now) has been stylized, and the circular shape symbolizes the town's continued growth. The town's name is written in white kanji characters at hoist.

Kono Village / 河野村

The design is based on the kanji character for “river” (河). The name of the village is written in white kanji letters at hoist.

Nanjo Town / 南条町

The flag of the former town of Nanjo was maroon with mark. The town is now, from 2005, part of the town of Minamiechizen.
