The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran (CBI; Persian: بانک مرکزی
جمهوری اسلامی ايران, Bank Markazi Jomhouri Islami Iran) is the central bank of
Iran. It is entirely government owned. It was established in August 1960 (1339
solar year) and separated all central banking responsibilities from Bank Melli
Iran and assigned it to the newly formed central bank. Among its major purposes
are maintenance of the value of the national currency, balance of payments as
well as facilitating trade transactions and contributing to the economic
advancement of the country.
The Central Bank is in charge of laying and
implementing monetary and credit policies of the country. Laying exchange
policies and determining exchange rates are among the functions of Bank Markazi.
The importation of goods, issuance of documentary credits and registration of
orders for documentary bills of exchange for imports are also done in accordance
with the policies of the Central Bank. As stated in the Monetary and Banking Act
of Iran (MBAI), CBI is responsible for the design and implementation of the
monetary and credit policies with due regard to the general economic policy of
the country."

Its flag is a light
blue horizontal flag with the logo (http://www.iranwatch.org/sites/default/files/central_bank_of_the_islamic_republic_of_iran.png)
in the middle in dark blue, with a dark blue fringe all around, as seen here:

The 18 flags (http://www.cbi.ir/upload/images/BankSupervision_slide.jpg)
of (almost all) institutions it supervises, comprise the following categories

I drew this flag, but I can't see any dark blue fringe around the flag, it's
a golden one.
