Alsónémedi is a large village in Gyál district of Pest County, in Budapest metropolitan area.
One of the oldest settlements in Pest County, the first surviving written mention of it dates back to 1067 (Nywyg).
It was first the property of the árpád and then the Aba clans.
From the 1300s it was owned by the Bishopric of Vác. The village was destroyed during the Turkish occupation,
the population fled to Csepel Island and the surrounding marshes, and was repopulated at the end of the 17th century.
During the peaceful centuries that followed, Némedi developed into a prosperous agricultural settlement, and was already considered the breadbasket of Pest.
Between 1695 and 1703, the village's population multiplied. After 1945, a new era began, and the land distribution moved the entire village.
Industry also slowly began to develop.

Its flag is white with a narrow yellow border all around. The coat of arms is placed at hoist side by one-third of the length.
The name of the settlement is written over the shield with yellow letters. Ratio is 1:2.
The flag was originally adopted by Local Government Decree No. 5/1993. (V. 11.) issued on 11 May 1993. The current legislation is 9/2015. (VI.25.) adopted on 25 June 2015.

The coat of arms is surrounded by a stylized baroque frame in gold. In the larger part of the shield, a standing golden sheaf of wheat is placed on a green ground in a blue field.
The coat of arms, even in its current state, faithfully expresses the past and present of the village of Alsónémedi,
since the village has been mainly engaged in agricultural production for more than 900 years, and within this,
crop production was the determining factor. This fact is symbolized by the standing sheaf of wheat, the blue sky behind it, and the green color refers to the fertile soil.
The coat of arms was adopted by the same Municipal Decree in 1993.

The Logo consists of a green heart where a two-lane road runs into inwards. There are five-five trees along each lane.
The name of the settlement is written under the heart emblem, and a motto-like inscription is written under name: “Közösség, biztonság, otthon.” (Community, safe, home.)
