Bugac is a large village in Kiskunfélegyháza district of in Bács-Kiskun county, in the Southern Great Plain region of southern Hungary.
The name of the settlement first appeared in a document in 1391, based on the origin of the name, it was probably founded by the Cumans who settled here after the Tatar invasion.
In its current location, a flourishing settlement of several square kilometers, consisting of stone houses, stood in the árpád era, with a basilica and a monastery at its center.
From the 16th century (when the location of Bugac can be identified with certainty) until 1950, it belonged to the border of the city of Kecskemét.
It became an independent settlement on January 1, 1950.

The flag of the settlement consists of three vertical stripes of green, white and yellow. The coat of arms is placed in the center of the flag.
The name settlement is written under the coat of arms with black letters. Ratio is 2:3.
The flag of municipality was adopted by Local Government Decree No. 2/2008. (XI. 27.) issued on 27 November 2008.

The coat of arms is in the form of a divided shield, the upper two-thirds green and the lower part gold (yellow).
A prancing horse is depicted on a green field, and a snake is depicted on a gold (yellow) field. The shield is surrounded by an oak branch and an ear of wheat.
The coat of arms was adopted by the same Local Government Decree.
