The Municipality of Cabra del Santo Cristo in the Province of Jaen, Andalusia, has its own symbols approved by the General Directorate of Local Administration on 23.05.2022.
Description: “A shield in Spanish shape, outlined in gold; parted per pale: dexter, on a field gules, the image of Christ of Burgos with his characteristic white loincloth and an ostrich egg at his feet; sinister, an oak tree, its trunk adorned with a crown of green foliage, enlarged; in front a black goat, statant guardant, clawed and horned gules; the foot vert, a tower, open, masoned, and windowed in black. The motto is a blue ribbon around the shield's mouth, with the monogram in black letters: 1637 * Very Loyal Town of Cabra del Santo Cristo * 1778. The crest is a closed royal crown, composed of a gold circlet and precious stones, with eight fleurons and eight pearls interspersed, closed with four arches also adorned with pearls, supporting a globe of azure, with a gold equator and semimeridian, and surmounted by a gold cross, the crown lined with gules.”
Meaning: The holm oak is justified by the presence of this tree species in the area known as Llanos de la Estación, or Llanos de Hidalgo. The goat is a symbolic element, alluding to the name of the municipality, as is the image of Christ of Burgos. The tower symbolizes the borderland character of the territory during the Middle Ages.

Description: “Rectangular taffeta flag, with a ratio of three modules long by two modules wide (2/3), or in other words, one and a half times longer than wide, the cloth dyed in crimson red, edged in gold, bordered by a white edge (as a heraldic border), which bears at the top of the length, the motto in gold capital letters: Very Loyal Town of, while at the bottom of the same length, the motto also in capital letters and in gold: Cabra del Santo Cristo. The field of the flag bears in the center a white lozenge with right angles, inside which will be fully charged the coat of arms of Cabra del Santo Cristo described above, without the motto, adjusting the geometric axis of this to the center of the vexillum, with a height equal to two-thirds of the width of the flag.”
Meaning: The design is based on the flag of the Brotherhood of the Muleteers, a local confraternity founded in the mid-19th century. The red color represents the abundant red soil of the municipality; it also represents Úbeda, the city to which Cabra del Santo Cristo once belonged, and whose banner is also red. The ivory-white border of the flag represents the Sanctuary of the Holy Christ of Cabra, while the central diamond represents the town's patron saint, Our Lady of Expectation.
