The Municipality of Chiclana de Segura in the Province of Jaen, Andalucia, has its own symbols, but the date of their adoption is unknown.
Description: Shield divided. First, on a gold field, a red cross of Santiago. Second, on a silver field, a black lance and crossbow, placed vertically. Crested with a closed royal crown.
Meaning: In the Topographical Reports of Philip II of 1575, the town declared that its coat of arms was: "A crossbow and a lance, and these it has had since very ancient times, as there is no record of anything to the contrary." These are the arms that appear in the second quarter, to which the Cross of Santiago was later added because the town belonged to the Master of the Order of Saint James, Don Rodrigo Íñiguez, and was the capital and headquarters of the Santiago Commandery of Montizón-Chiclana.
Note: There is another, similar, coat of arms in parallel use, but I couldn't find out for what purposes.
Description: White, with a diagonal green stripe running from the bottom corner of the staff to the top of the fly. Ared Cross of Santiago is located in the top corner of the staff.
